During the month of March, our Technical Director Stefano Venturi successfully completed the preliminary site survey at the prestigious Bodegas Salentein winery, located in the heart of the Mendoza wine region in Argentina.
But what exactly does this first step consist of?
In our design process, the initial site survey represents a moment of primary importance where we come into direct contact with the client’s requirements and the characteristics of the production facility.
In this initial phase, we therefore immersed ourselves in the reality of Bodegas Salentein, working closely with their design team to thoroughly understand their functional and production needs.
Through dedicated workshops, we gathered valuable information that will guide us in the project development, including an in-depth analysis of existing structures and areas designated for expansion, planning a meticulous technical investigation campaign on the buildings, and collaboration in defining the activity program.
At the same time, we initiated a detailed study of production data, commercial objectives, and winemaking and aging protocols.
To have a complete picture of the company’s operations, we also conducted a census of tanks, machinery, and current equipment along with all their technical specifications.
This “data collection” phase, as we define it in our design approach, is fundamental for precisely quantifying the necessary spaces and identifying the most suitable areas for future production processes, while defining efficient operational flows.
The site survey concluded with the definition of a preliminary schedule and the drafting of an initial investment budget that provides a first summary estimate of the project’s timeline and costs.
We are truly excited to be able to put our experience at the service of Bodegas Salentein’s growth, implementing design solutions that will be not only functional and sustainable, but also characterized by careful design.
