Construction site stories

From the Panoramic Roof to the Stainless Steel Fermentation Hall: The Evolution of Tenuta Meraviglia Winery Continues

The project for the new Tenuta Meraviglia winery stems from a clear ambition: to integrate production needs with respect for the environment and the community. Situated 60 meters above sea level, this construction represents a true act of territorial redevelopment, conceived as a work of architectural restoration.

In our previous article, we guided you through the pillars and beams of the emerging winery, exploring the balance between architecture and landscape. Today, we return to the heart of Castagneto Carducci to discover the latest progress, where sustainability and artisanal care continue to drive every stage of the project.

Sustainability as a Guiding Principle

The panoramic roof, which enhances the verticality of the quarry and the surrounding nature, will become one of the estate’s visual landmarks, while the gravity-fed grape reception system demonstrates the commitment to sustainable and innovative production processes.

Ongoing Works: Roofing and Connections

Significant progress has been made at the Dievole S.p.A. winery:

  • installation of the X-Lam deck,
  • construction of the perimeter fascia,
  • waterproofing of the roof to ensure proper humidity levels within the offices.

At the same time, reinforcement work continues, which will enable the final connection to the vinification ramp — the functional heart of the production process.

The Stainless Steel Fermentation Hall

The metal framework is beginning to outline the shape of the stainless steel fermentation hall, one of the most strategic areas of the winery.

The aging rooms have already been fitted with industrial flooring, featuring integrated drainage channels in the concrete to ensure efficient wastewater management. This technical detail complements the architectural choices, adding both functionality and charm to the structure.

A Dialogue Between Architecture and Landscape

The clear skies of recent weeks have made the construction site of Dievole’s new winery, built in the former Cariola quarry on the hills north of San Vincenzo, even more striking. Here, the stylistic details of the surrounding rock walls engage in dialogue with the new architecture, creating a fusion between human intervention and the natural power of the site.

A drone photoshoot has captured the evolution of the Tenuta Meraviglia winery, showing how the project minimizes visual impact while respecting the site’s morphology, transforming a disused quarry into a place of architectural and productive value.

Almost a year after laying the foundation stone, the Tenuta Meraviglia winery has taken on a defined and recognizable form, combining sustainability, innovation, and respect for the region’s history.

Our journey through these “Construction Stories” continues, and the final shape of Tenuta Meraviglia is drawing ever closer.
